ABOUT

Founded in 1977, NEPCA is the oldest continuously operating regional club in the United States.

The New England Paperweight Collectors Association is an educational organization of about 120 members. Members meet each Spring and Fall at easily accessible New England locations to share their appreciation for this beautiful art form and to learn more about paperweights through informative and entertaining programs.

Features of our meetings and special events include:

  • Presentations by paperweight artists from all over the world, augmented by audio visual materials and examples of their work

  • Panels of experts and/or experienced collectors expounding on paperweights and related subject such as their place in art history

  • Demonstrations of techniques of paperweight making

  • Conducted tours of displays of paperweights and glass objects

  • Opportunity to meet and compare notes with fellow collectors and glass artists

  • Opportunity to add to your collection through paperweight dealers exhibiting at meetings

New England has a rich paperweight making history. In the mid-1800's demonstrating amazing artistry and beauty, the craftsmen of Boston & Sandwich Glass Company, Mt. Washington Glass Works and the New England Glass Company made their home in New England producing some of the finest glassware from that period.

Today, New England is home to many internationally acclaimed paperweight and new emerging artists, some of whom regularly attend our meetings!
